BSV Books Team
Who are the Books Volunteers?
The Books teams is made up of book enthusiasts and literacy experts who believe that books open up worlds to readers young and old.
How does the Books Team Work?
First, book volunteers receive donations three times a week at the Ed Hub. Additional Spanish language and social justice books were purchased from Mrs. Dalloways (local bookstore), thanks to community donations. All books are then quarantined for a week at the Ed Hub, in accordance with national library guidelines. When books are “cured,” literacy experts sort and curate book bags by grade-level. Bags are then distributed every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to any BUSD preschool-8th grade student (or family) at the Ed Hub.
The books team is also planning to take our book bags into the community to connect directly with more kids this summer. More details coming soon!
