Schools Fund Grantmaking

The Berkeley Public Schools Fund has been awarding grants to Berkeley educators for 40 years.

Driven by our mission of championing an equitable public education for students, families and our community, the Schools Fund operates two distinct grant programs based on priority funding areas.

LEARNING for Equity	LEADING for Equity
$1,000-$10,000 Early Fall Deadline, Annually For Educator Teams Prioritizes Equity & Collaboration	$5,000-$30,000 Mid Fall & Late Spring Deadlines, Annually For Multisite + District Projects Prioritizes Equity & Collaboration

What is the SCOPE of your project?

Single classroom? Your project isn’t currently a fit for Schools Fund grants, but we recommend exploring other sources like Donors Choose, the Philanthropic Ventures Foundation, and/or your local PTA.
Single school (either grade-level or content-area teams)? Your project may be a fit for LEARNING for Equity grants.
Multiple schools or district-wide? Your project may be a fit for LEADING for Equity grants.
