King Middle School
Mallorie will attend the Accelerative Integrated Methodology (AIM) Spanish training in Jacksonville, Florida this summer. She will focus on teaching Spanish through gesturing and plays that are fun, exciting and highly embedded with vocabulary and expressive language.
Berkeley High School
Kimberly will attend art workshops held by the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado this summer. She will study sculpture and using art to investigate a topic to implement into her Creative Arts and Advanced Arts classes at Berkeley High.
Thousand Oaks Elementary
Bob will study Spanish and the art of Oaxaca region of Mexico with two other teachers this summer. Their goal is to be able to better communicate with Spanish-speaking parents and to bring vibrant, culturally-rich art lessons to students.
Malcolm X Elementary
Tracey will be attending the Silicon Valley Math Initiative Summer Coaching Institute with 5 other teachers this summer. They are excited to deepen their understanding of how students learn math and their own mathematical content knowledge.
