BSV’s Real Live Book Drive

(A Program of the Berkeley Public Schools Fund)

Need books at home?

Come by BUSD’s Ed Hub every Monday (12-2pm), Wednesday (3:30- 5:30pm), and Friday (12-2pm) to pick up grade-level bags of books for FREE for each BUSD student, preschool – 5th grade. All books have been carefully quarantined according to national library guidelines. Enjoy them, return them, and pick up another bag – all summer long!

Got books to donate?

The Berkeley Schools Volunteers Books Team is running a REAL LIVE BOOK DRIVE now and all summer long! We are accepting high quality book donations in new or gently used condition, from preschool-8th grade. Bring us titles from this list (BUSD book recommendations) and beyond. Please bring donations in paper bags to the Ed Hub during open hours: Mondays 12-2pm, Wednesdays 3:30-5:30 and Fridays 12-2pm. The Ed Hub is located at the Berkeley Adult School staff parking lot on the backside of campus. Enter from the 1700 block of Curtis between Virginia and Francisco.

Able to help BSV purchase new books?

Support fabulous local bookseller, Mrs. Dalloways, through BSV’s online book drive. BSV’s literacy experts have pre-selected high-interest books as well as titles in Spanish to sustain the interest of struggling readers. These new books will be folded into the levelled book bags BSV is distributing at the Ed Hub. Please give what you can!
