FAQs for Host Teachers
If I hosted a volunteer in a previous year, do I need to request one again?
Yes, but we’ve made it easier! When you click on the Request a Volunteer button, you’ll be able to access previous Volunteer Request Forms. From there, you can make any minor updates and resubmit, without having to enter all the information again.
I requested a volunteer in a previous year and never heard back. Should I bother?
There have been a few years in recent times when BSV received more Teacher Requests for Volunteers than we had volunteers! As such, BSV was not able to fill every request. Moving forward, BSV intends to notify teachers directly of this circumstance in a timely manner. Also, we are ramping up our volunteer recruitment efforts for 2019-20, so we hope this issue will largely fade away.
I want to request a specific volunteer. How do I do this?
When you click on the Request a Volunteer button, you will have an opportunity to add notes to your specific request. Include the name of your preferred volunteer there and BSV will do what we can to reconnect you.
