2016 Half Marathon
For the fourth year, the Schools Fund with be the official charity for the Berkeley Half Marathon! The event this year is on Sunday, November 20th and will feature a 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon race. This year we are offering the Race for Free program: free race registration in exchange for a modest fundraising minimum.

15-16 Strategic Impact Grants
Schools Fund Strategic Impact Grants encourage teacher collaboration and community partnerships that support excellence and equity across all schools. These are larger grants that serve at the grade, department, school, inter-district, and District level.
In the 2015-16 school year year we awarded $69,480 for STEM projects, $62,745 for the Arts, $41,030 for Language Arts, and $21,870 for Student Support initiatives. You can check out the full list of Strategic Impact Grants awarded for the 2015-2016 school year at the link.
Scholarship Benefit Concert
The Berkeley Public Schools Fund presents an evening of music with Herbie Mims & Friends, including guest vocalists Janice Maxie Reid and Daria Nile. The event is on Monday, October 17 from 7-10pm at Freight & Salvage and features performances by the Berkeley High School Jazz Combo and Berkeley High Chamber Orchestra.
This is a benefit concert for the Boatwright/Weinstein Music Scholarship, which provides need-based financial awards for private music lessons to Berkeley Public School students, grades 6-8.
