Berkeley Arts Magnet 3rd grade teacher Kristine Fowler took students to Chabot Space and Science Center for hands-on learning. She writes, “Through such highly engaging exhibits, children gain an understanding naturally through the process of scientific inquiry, and stimulate their interest in science more vividly and completely than is possible in the classroom. As much as possible we want to supplement their learning in a way that makes the material more personally meaningful and comprehensible. A unit on the stars and the moon, culminating in a field trip to Chabot Space and Science Center would make it unforgettable.”
